Benedict Chambers

LONDON / MLE / RP. A new VO, and experienced Actor.

Benedict (or Tommy to his friends!) is a LAMDA graduate, with a broad range of accents including RP, London, MLE (Multicultural London English - more a contemporary sort of East End, Cockney etc..), Birmingham (where he completed a BA English Lit. & Drama at Birmingham Uni.), Leeds, Liverpool and Yorkshire, in voice ages from late teens to 30s.

His acting work is predominantly theatrical to date, with an extensive list of credits, most recently including Capt. Cook in Mr Popper's Penguins (Waterside Arts Centre, Manchester), Dad in The Bear (Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff), and Mad Hatter in Adventures In Wonderland (The Vaults, London) which was nominated for an Olivier Award.  Going back a little further he was Sebastian in Twelfth Night and Mercutio in Romeo & Juliet (both at Rabble Theatre, Reading), Sam Rose / Narrator in Sam Rose In The Shadows (UK tour), and Estragon in Waiting For Godot (BeMe Theatre, Munich - dir. William Oldroyd).

His voice work to date is admittedly a bit limited (having started not long before the Covid pandemic kicked off), encompassing only two clients, but both jobs involved multiple sessions and good working relationships ongoing.  He was the main VO on a stress management app for Adeki Performance Management, so a series of corporate narratives in the form of calming stories and meditations - much of this recording during the 2020 lockdowns.

Since December 2019 he's also been recording for 360 Globalnet, on a series of corporate recordings on the worldwide insurance industry, including pieces for internal communications, and external marketing - recording in Dean Street (London, Soho), Hertz Studios (Manchester), as well as home-recordings.  You can see a video of one of these VOs if you click on the relevant link on the right of this page.

Outside of his thesp'ing and VOs, he's also a lead singer and rhythm guitarist for UK rock band Effra Social, recording under the London label The Animal Farm, and having t racks on Spotify and Apple Music.  He also is a private tutor of elocution for clients, UK and abroad - so a modern day Prof. Henrry Higgins (i.e. My Fair Lady), if much more temperate!
