Sophia Mackie Ellis
RP/Characters. Versatile characters, and a safe pair of corporate hands!
Sophia is an experienced character and straight voice artist, with voice age ranging from toddlers to OAPs! She has a broad range of accents from RP to Scottish, and US - much of this due to her attending an International School in adolescence. She also has experience on stage (up to 2008), and screen.
On the big screen her recent credits include Anna (lead) in Luc Besson's Jack And The Cuckoo-Clock Heart (Europacorp), a Newscaster in ABC's Of Death 2, Janet in Bluff (Hadesgate Multimedia), and Anna McKenzie in The Zombie Diaries (Bleeding Edge Films). On TV she was a Bomb Disposal Specialist in New Tricks (BBC), Jenny Wilkinson in Safelight 19 (a pilot), Kate in Pinapple Dance Studio (Pulse Films), and the Lead in Dust (a pilot, Hadesgate Multimedia).
Sophia also has extensive VO experience, predominantly for various corporate clients, as well as several forms of character voice work. Her corporate clients include McDonalds (work experience modules), SME Live Europe (events promotional corporate), The Jelly Lounge (online promotional corporate), and ITV (an IVR system), as well as a host of ELT jobs (e.g. for MacMillan, OUP, and Beyond). She's also recorded promos and continuity for Granada Sky Broadcasting channels (e.g. for Men & Motors, Granada Plus/Breeze).
More recently she's voiced gallerist Rosa DeVine in the short film Under ('Winner Best Short...First Time Filmaker' at Toronto Independent Film Festival). Additionally she's voiced an eccentric American CSI in the film Cognitive (still in production - NW3 Films, Directed by Even Richards).
Sophia is also an accomplished character voice, having re-voiced herself (and others) in various ADR sessions (e.g. for The Zombie Diaries), as well as game VO roles (e.g. Narrator in WhoDunnit?), and audiobook characters (e.g. 17 characters voiced in Dragon Run Saga - an interactive audiobook). She also recorded a joke voicemail app for MIraclia Telecomunications SL, entitled Jausapp 'Christmas Hamper'.
To bolster her game VO experience she's also recently taken a Mo-Cap course (by MoCap Vaults), workshopping various scenes to demonstrate what it would be like on a mo-cap stage.
