Danny Rahim

LONDON / STREET / RP / ASIAN. Versatile actor, good comic timing; Urban cool to Yuppie pro; extensive TV - 'DCI Banks', 'Primeval: New World', 'Young James Herriot', 'Citizen Khan', 'Eastenders', 'Death In Paradise'.

With over 10 years experience as an actor Danny has covered a multitude of roles both on and off screen.  His voice range is late teens through to 30s, and deliveries from London urban to RP, as well as conversational Punjabi and some Middle & Far Eastern accented-English.  Awards and nominations to date include being a nominee at Carlton Hobbs, Winner of the Samuel Beckett Theatre Award, and Winner of BBC Outstanding Contribution to Diversity.

Danny was invited to work with the BBC Radio Department after graduating from Manchester School of Theatre, performing in a number of plays including Canopy Of Stars, Honey, A Bad Night Out and Stand Firm You Cads! (Directed by Nicolas Kent).  More recently he won the highly coveted BBC Radio Award for Outstanding Contribution to Diversity' for his part in the epic WW2 drama, Tommies, where he played one of the leading roles.  He continues his work with BBC Radio Drama developing new plays.

Outside of radio drama he also enjoys working as a VO, especially game voicing, and has recently recorded an exciting new title for Sony Interactive via Side UK - on the up-coming PS VR Blood And Truth.  He has also recorded game deliveries on other titles for Side UK and Rocksteady Studios.  Other VO work to date includes ADR / dubbing for several of his on-screen performances including Young James Herriot, Primeval New World and Unforgiven, promos for MTV, and corporate pieces for the MOD, British Gas and Transparency International (an anti-corruption VO).

Whilst at Manchester University Danny was also training to be a pilot.  His original plan was to join the RAF as an officer but a teacher recommended he apply to drama school... and well the rest is history.  He now enjoys flying as a hobby, as well as martial arts (esp. kick-boxing), swimming and football.
