Benedict Taylor

RP. Hip to Blue Chip! Smooth authority to DJ cool. Accessible conversational style. Documentary & corporate pro. [Home Studio]

Benedict is a highly experienced actor and voice-over artist.  His accents range from Cockney to Yorkshire, from Aussie to South African, and Geordie to German.

His movie credits include Hippopotamus, Gone, Notes On A Scandal, Victims, Star Wars Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace, The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones: Adventures in the Secret Service, Monk Dawson, Sharpe's Regiment, Duel of Hearts, Every Time We Say Goodbye, The Black Arrow and The Watcher in the Woods (both versions, 1970 as the handsome young boyfriend, and 2017 as the Grumpy Old Toff!).  More recently he's been filming on Dead Man's Cove (a Laura Marlin Mystery, rather like those of Nancy Drew fame).

On TV his appearances include World On Fire, Unforgotten, Wallander, Doctors, When Hitler Invaded Britain, Murder In Suburbia, Murder Investigation Team, The 10 Percenters, Charles & Diana: Unhappily Ever After, Jewels, The Good Sex Guide, Darling Buds of May, A Perfect Spy, Vanity Fair, Behind Enemy Lines, Thirteen at Dinner, The Last Days of Pompeii, The Far Pavilions, Beau Geste, Bergerac and Tales of the Unexpected.  More recently he's played Dr Drake in World On Fire, Ben in Your Dad's Gay, and Mark Bennett in Unforgotten.

Benedict's theatre credits include Good (Donmar Warehouse), and Dario Fo`s Abducting Diana.

His corporate yet accessible and conversational style has brought him many corporate and commercial voice-overs.  His commercials include the Metropolitan Police, Saga Insurance, Skoda, RSPCA, First Class Mortgages and Bud Light.  He was the continuity voice of Sky Travel Channel, and has recorded promos for CNN and Five.

His corporate clients include BT Sports (UEL 2021 match 'opener' - Sunset & Vine), Lantus, Visa, the Crown Prosecution Service (
CPS), the Ministry Of Defence (MOD), Skandia, Boehringer Ingelheim (pharmaceuticals), the 2012 London Olympic Bid, Whitbread, Heineken, Redstone Communications, Western Homes, FIFA, British Energy, British Gas, Yorkshire Electricity, BT, Cable & Wireless, Motorolla, Kingfisher, Longmans, Legal & General, Moneyextra.com, RBS, Royal Mail, Rover Cars, and Microsoft.

Ben also has broad documentary experience (re-voicing and narrating) including his contributions to Five's Breaking Into Tesco (6 episodes narration), Channel 4's The Secrets Of The 12 Disciples, the British Open Golf Championship Official Film 2005 / 2006 / 2007, a biopic on Seve Ballesteros, and British Empire In Colour.  In addition he has broad ADR / lip-synch experience, re-voicing himself in many of his TV and film roles.

Ben's also equipped with a state of the art home studio, but unlike most artists so-equipped he's not a nube!  In other words he's been doing this for years, and so doesn't have to take on the learning curve of most artists, especially those who've just started during the Covid pandemic.  If you'd like his technical spec, just ask!
