Olga Betko

UKRAINIAN & RUSSIAN. Experienced voice artist, journalist and presenter.

Olga is native Ukrainian and Russian (fully bi-lingual), and speaks fluent English.  She can do a variety of accents including speaking English in Russian, Ukrainian and Polish accents, and speaking Russian in English, French, Ukrainian and Polish accents.  Olga has an MA in International Journalism from City University (London) and a Diploma in Journalism & Literary Editing from Moscow State University. 

She's presented the acclaimed 2-part radio documentary Chernobyl Tales, then won the commission to present the 2-part radio series Alive In The Dead Zone, as well as Everywhere A Stranger, World Citizen and Living With Pirates (Ukrainian, Russian and English versions).  Additionally, while with BBC Ukrainian Service she produced and co-presented their evening live magazine show, Hello From London, and was voted most popular Presenter by the BBC Ukrainian Service audience.

Her voice work includes commercials for Dove, Avast, Sony, AMD, Land Rover and National Geographic Channel, and corporate pieces for HP, Ford, H.M. Foreign
Office, and more recently ABInBev (one of the world's largest brewers, in Ukrainian)  She's also voiced promos for Disney Ukraine, and presented a children's take on the Holiday Magic CD (Jeff Gelder Productions, USA).  Additionally she's narrated a kids audiobook, Squirrel Monkey (Mantra Lingua Global House, in Ukrainian).  More recently she documentary narrated the BBC's What Next For School No. 20, following school leavers from this school in Ukraine (a long-term project over 5 years, won through very tough competition!) - here's a link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/w3ct3041.  She's also re-voiced various characters for the documentary Assignment (BBC - in accented English).

Her documentary VOs include dubbing one of the main characters in the Modern Slavery series, and narrated the more humorous Cool Britania.  Other voice work includes English (with Russian & Ukrainian accents) deliveries for several flagship shows on BBC World Service, including Outlook, The Ticket, The Word and Everywoman.

In 2023, as part of the Erin Burnett Outfront (CNN) team, she was nominated for an Emmy Award, for translating and voicing Serhiy Perebyinis on his personal loss during the war in Ukraine.
