Steve Toussaint

LONDON / CARIBBEAN / AFRICAN. Chocolate cool deep smooth to street hip. Seso in 'Prince of Persia: Sands of Time'.

Steve was born of Barbadian descent in the sumptuous locale of Birmingham, before escaping to the bright lights of London at the age of four.  He graduated from Sussex University with a degree in Politics......very useful for an actor!  In the last fifteen-plus years he has worked consistently on radio, film, TV and stage.

His films include
the knife-throwing Seso in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, opposite Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina, Roland in Shooting Dogs, a cop in Sin Eater (starring Heath Ledger), Dog Eat Dog, the Uzi-toting hitman gunning down John Hannah in Circus, Judge Hunter in Judge Dread, and Big George in ID.

He's curently working on the up-coming and much anticipated 'House Of The Dragon', HBO's prequel to Game Of Thrones, playing one of the five main roles, the Lord Corlys of House Velaryon (or 'Sea Snake'), a bloodline as old as the Targaryens, and richer and more powerful than the Lannisters!  Recently he was also in Steve McQueen's acclaimed film Red, White And Blue (part of the Small Axe series), as well as in Channel 4's It's A Sin.

Steve's TV credits also include Father Babajide in Skins (semi regular), DI Mike Trent in Doctors (semi regular character for 8 years), Adam Lockwood in Broken News (
BBC), Nick Austin in The Bill (Thames), Sean Horton in Holby City (BBC), Caleb in Family Affairs (Thames), the Transport Secretary in My Dad's The Prime Minister, Pete in England Expects (BBC), DI Scott in Rosemary & Thyme, DC Chris Hewson in Murder In Mind (BBC), Sammy in Murphy's Law (Tiger Aspect), Charlie in Waking The Dead (BBC), Joe Babb in Jack Of Hearts, Like in Doomwatch, Lennox in Macbeth (Granada), and as Barry in The Knock (series 1-5).  Additionally, he's played Chief Superintendent Mallick in Line Of Duty (Series 2), Richard Parkwood in Silent Witness ('Coup de Grace' parts 1 & 2) and semi-regular Chief Supt. Joe Moody in Inspector Lewis.

His theatrical credits include
A Doll's House (West End), Geldof in The Traducers (Flight 5065 / London Eye), Kwesi in Fix Up (Royal National Theatre), Florindo in Servant To Two Masters (RSC / Young Vic) and Luke in Amen Corner (Bristol Old Vic).  More recently he played the lead in Father Comes Home From The Wars (The Royal Court Theatre).

His voice work includes commercial campaigns for ASDA, Kia Sportage, Eastenders Revealed (
BBC), Western Union, the Metropolitan Police and several music / CD commercials (for artists including Ray Charles and Randy Crawford), as well as promos and continuity for National Geographic, The Africa Channel, UKTV, Trouble, UK Gold, Disney Channel and MTV.  He's recorded corporate pieces for the CPS, HBOS, Barclays, Puma and Chivas, documentary narrations for Wild Caribbean (BBC) and Bob Marley Rebel Music, and re-voicing for Situation Critical: Sierra Leone and Seconds From Disaster (National Geographic).  He has also ADR/dubbed for films including I Am Slave, Hotel Rwanda and The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe, as well as TV shows including Outcasts (Kudos) and Spooks.
