On TV she’s been in a wide range of productions. She played the female lead, DS Saffron Saleh, opposite Robbie Coltrane in a recent feature length special of Cracker - Cracker: Nine Eleven (ITV1), Joyce in Rose And Maloney (ITV) with Sarah Lancashire and Phil Davis, and can be seen as the disastrous social worker Elaine The Pain in the BBC’s acclaimed Story Of Tracy Beaker children’s drama series. Other series include Doctor Who (BBC), Holby City (BBC), Sirens (ITV), BAFTA award winning Holding On (BBC), Big Bad World (ITV), Out Of Hours (BBC), BAFTA nominated Cardiac Arrest (BBC), Underground (Channel 4), True Love (ITV), and as Jamila (lead) in the BBC’s BAFTA nominated The Buddha Of Suburbia.
Her voice work is extensive, having played the lead in many dramas for BBC Radio 5 and Radio 4 – most recently she played Rukhsana in Rescue Me opposite Nina Wadia and Bhaskar Patel. She’s voiced commercials for O2, Expedia, The Guardian, Business Link, World Vision, Red Row Homes, Discovery Channel and the Metropolitan Police, promos for More 4, ITV, BBC2 and BBC World Service, and corporate pieces for Intel (Meego), Shell, HSBC, Barclays, The Eden Project, Atkins Engineering and The CPS (Crown Prosecution Service). Her documentary pieces include those for Channel 4’s Dispatches and National Geographic’s Seconds From Disaster, and Teachers’ Tv’s School Matters. She’s also recorded character voices in Tales Of The Night for TV Cartoons London (TVC).
